TREE OF LIFE

Believe it or not, this was my first commissioned canvas, after more than 10 years of being a professional artist!  The client's parents had both passed away recently, and she wanted to have a piece of art to celebrate them,  incorporating elements significant to them and herself.  Nearly everything depicted in this tree of life is symbolic, with many hidden and cheeky elements.  It was a great joy to paint, and a challenge to create something spiritual and meaningful without becoming too obvious.
